| Isn't Maid with Hakama Cute? |
Maid in Café Rokumei-Kan wear Hakama and they welcome you by saying "welcome to Café Rokumei-Kan." Wanna know how well they speak English, right? I was wondering about it the most before I visited the café, and of course, the first thing I asked was that question.
The owner told me that some maid speak English frequently while some can speak just a bit of English. Maid at Café Rokumei-Kan were selected by personalities; they were not selected by English skill. Therefore, there is no exam to be maid at Café Rokumei-Kan!
I saw the example phrases written on a paper (for maid). Sometimes, maid girls use dictionaries to speak English, and that is totally fine. The café is happy if English speakers teach English to its maid. So, when you go there, please teach them some English! They'll be happy!
I actually saw a paper one of the customers wrote- he corrected some English phrases written on the paper (the cafe made)! I thought that was really nice of him!
This café has a great menu especially for foreigners, yes, for you: you can try Kimono (Hakama) on & take photos and also, maid help you to translate your name into Kanji.

I really thought both of them give foreigners a great experience. But you know what? Even some Japanese people ask maid girls to help translating their handle-names into Kanji at the café! When you decide your name into Kanji symbol, maid will write it on a square piece of high-quality paperboard with a writing brush- the basic Japanese way of writing.
One of the reasons the owner made such a café was because when the owner visited some maid café in Akiba, some café leave foreigners unattended, and he was sorry for those foreigners. So, he created the café that pays attention to customers all the time.
