Because of the resignation of Prime Minister Fukuda announced in the evening of the 1st, a news website reported, " again, the hope for 'Rozen Aso' becoming next Prime Minister increased; stock prices of companies associated with anime also increased. Mr. Aso and Ms. Koike run for election." On the 2nd at near Akihabara Station, a TV broadcasting station was asking people "who will be the next Prime Minister?"
On the questionnaire, people selected one out of six candidates such as Taro Aso, who is also called Rozen Aso, Yuriko Koike, Seiko Noda, Hidenao Nakagawa, Youichi Masuzoe, and Jyunichiro Koizumi. When I saw the halfway result, Jyunichiro Koizumi had 5 votes, Youichi Masuzoe had 2 votes, Yuriko Koike, Seiko Noda, and Hidenao Nakagawa had zero votes. And, Rozen Aso got nearly 30 votes! He was by far the most popular candidate.
By the way, on the 2nd in Akihabara, Asobit Chara City held a sale of Prime Minister Fukuda resigning and started selling special snacks of "I'm-different-from-you' Yakkun." With snacks of Prime Minister Fukuda, Rozen Aso's snacks were sold together at the store. I have no idea which store, but Tokyo Newspaper wrote: "in Akihabara, where the secretary-general of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Taro Aso, is really popular, snacks of Mr. Aso were sold twice more than normal days."
