AkibaBlog

Doujinshi of Strike Witches, "Strike Witches –Africa no Majo- (witch in Africa)" was released on the 19th. Takeshi Nogami who wrote its manga said "the cover illustration is by Fumikane Shimada (original idea of SW), the novel and the explanation is by Takaaki Suzuki (settings and study about military affairs of SW); it's a doujinshi made only by insiders." Originally, it was going to be a bonus booklet of DVD, but somehow, it was released as doujinshi at the end.

Doujinshi of Strike Witches, "Strike Witches –Africa no Majo- (witch in Africa)" was released on the 19th. Takeshi Nogami who wrote its manga said "the cover illustration is by Fumikane Shimada (original idea of SW), the novel and the explanation is by Takaaki Suzuki (settings and study about military affairs of SW); it's a doujinshi made only by insiders."

"Strike Witches –Africa no Majo- (witch in Africa)" has manga written by Takeshi Nogami about "North African Campaign at Harfaya Pass" (in a historical fact, German Military fought against UK's Tank with 88 mm gun) and novel called "Africa no Hoshi (the star of Africa)" written by Takaaki Suzuki. On top of that, "a part of plot of Strike Witches" and "a collection of little gags that can't be talked officially (maybe)" were written.

According to its afterword, it supposed to be a bonus booklet of DVD, but since the number of pages of the booklet was reduced, it was released as doujinshi at the end.

This book is about a battle of men in Africa. But since a girl is a main character of this battle, we had to write armed forces as sub characters. Nevertheless, we wanted to write what men could do and what they did in the war. We all wanted to write about them from the beginning of this plan.

Fumikane Shimada

The scene is at that Harfaya Pass. It's not a derivative work. It introduces about a fight happened in that world.

Takaaki Suzuki

Since only "insiders" put things together that they couldn't published before because of the Media... We just made it however we like this time.

Takeshi Nogami

At Comike, "the number of 'bullets' we had was surely less than the number of people who came to our booth. When a military unit (brave soldiers in many ways) sold the 'bullets' said 'Nogami-san, bullets!' and 'bullets!!!' I was scared. And the 'bullets' disappeared like M61 Vulcan 20mm (by Firstspear.com)." It was like that and completely sold out by the noon. Melonbooks Akihabara also said "selling like crazy."
