Police in Akiba: With a Nightstick, Patrolling & Questioning –the Highest Level of Warning-
A few days after the "Akihabara Stabbing Spree" happened (June 8th), I barely saw police walking around and asking questions on the street in Akihabara. However, on the 11th, there were many policemen & police cars in Akihabara. Before, even though police patrolled Akihabara, they did not hold a nightstick in their hands- the stick was kept around their waist. Policemen I saw on the 11th in Akihabara held nightsticks in their hands and patrolled, asking questions.

Three Police Questioning & Checking a Person One Police Checked His Backpack, Other 2 Police were Holding Nightsticks |
A few days after the "Akihabara Stabbing Spree" happened (June 8th), I barely saw police walking around and asking questions on the street in Akihabara (from the noon to night). However, on the 11th, there were many policemen & police cars in Akihabara: 4 groups of policemen & 3 (?) patrol cars.
It's not rare to see policemen patrolling Akihabara on the street, but on the 11th, 3 out of 4 groups of policemen held a nightstick in their hands. I guess it was because the deadly accident happened in Akihabara. Of course, police patrolled before, but they did not hold a nightstick in their hands.
Also, I heard from a staff at a store that "there was a patrol car on the 11th in the afternoon- rare to see it." "on Monday night, there were full of patrol cars."
