A Swindler from Jamaica? Play Chess on the Street
On the 15th, a guy who calls himself, "the #1 Chess Player in Jamaica" was playing ' speed chess' on the street in Akihabara. He tried to gather people, saying "my dad has prostate cancer, so please contribute money to help my dad. I need 200,000yen (about two thousand dollars =99yen) by April 18th and I have to go back to Jamaica." In two hours, he got this amount of money. He did the same thing in England on November 2007.

"My Dad Has Prostate Cancer, so Please Contribute Money to Help My Dad. I Need 200,000yen by April 18th, & I Have to Go Back to Jamaica" He First Got Only a Coin (100yen), but in 2 Hours, He Got This Much |
On the 15th, a guy who calls himself, "the #1 Chess Player in Jamaica" was playing 'speed chess' on the street in Akihabara. He tried to gather people, saying "my dad has prostate cancer, so please contribute money to help my dad. I need 200,000yen (about two thousand dollars =99yen) by April 18th and I have to go back to Jamaica."
He first got only a coin (100yen = about $1), but in two hours, he got this amount of money. On 2-channel, people comment: "a touching story, Jamaica," "it's better than setting an association to help his dad and swindle," etc.
While the Jamaican was playing chess (for 3 hours), the same white guy was there the whole hours through, so it was kind of strange. So, I google "Jamaica Chess" and I found out that he did the same thing in England on November 2007. In London, he also called himself "the #1 Chess Player in Jamaica" and he wrote "my dad has prostate cancer, so please contribute money to help my dad. I need 300 pounds (about 60,000yen) by December 9th and I have to go back to Jamaica."
The guy who calls himself "the #1 Chess Player in Jamaica" came to Japan a week ago. So, the question becomes, if he had money to come to Japan, why he doesn't go back to Jamaica? The Caucasian guy who was with the chess player also played in London (he has same hair, hair style, clothes, shoes, and the color of his skin), so aren't they just travel all over the world together?
There is a society of Jamaican Chess Federation, and the society puts names of champions in the history. Champions in the last 10 times are Shane Matthews, Jomo Pitterson, Warren Elliott, and Duane Rowe. When I google the images of Jamaica + names of champions, they are totally different from the guy who calls himself "the #1 Chess Player in Jamaica."
