The first visual book of AKB48, which is known as "holding the devils' meeting to shake hands," "giving tickets for the year of 2015 as a bonus," "doing an indecent business method," etc, "AKB48 Visual Book 2008" was released on the 18th.
According to the book's information, "the idol unit, AKB48, which fulfilled an important mission to perform at Kouhaku (that is the biggest music show to sing at in Japan) and was born in Akihabara, has released the very first visual book. It's for you who have heard the name, AKB48, but do not know who are the members, or for you who can't recognize who is who since there are so many members, or for you who want to know about AKB48, etc: All the answers are in the book! There are 4 kinds of books such as teamA, teamK, teamB, & Research Student. Each book is 2,500yen ($25 = 99yen).
There is a system that each fan needs to buy more than one book (since it's AKB48); each book (teamA, teamK, teamB, & Research Student) has 212 kinds of pictures (total of 848 kinds), and 5 bonus pictures (not copied) come with each book. The book says " there will be no meaning if fans would not collect all pictures!"
Except completing bonus pictures (not copied), if you buy all 4 kinds of visual books at the theater of AKB48, you can meet the members of AKB48 and can shake hands with them. Gussan says "I'm not strong, so I can not even go to 10K meeting for shaking hands." Houkago-wa-itsumo-party-san says "at the end, personnel buy it and sell them separately: tickets for shaking hands, the book, and the pictures. I guess that's exactly what will happen."
When "Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008" came out, the event announced that if you bought at least 44 of them, you would be able to join the spring festival of AKB48. Actual percentage to get the ticket was 1/771468890940000000. To complete all 848 pictures, you need to buy at least 172 books (430,000yen = $4,316 = 99yen). The percentage to complete all bonus pictures I guess comes to the 4th power of 1/57199817400003 (incl. calculation of the % of getting the same pictures).
